By removing the original "Sport" position from our adapters we gained the freedom to perfect our Touring position. This product was easier to install than I anticipated. It took me 90 minutes, working slowly and carefully. The YouTube video helped, but the instructions were excellent (18 pages with lots of pictures). My riding position is improved, with my hands closer to me, my arms more relaxed. and overall more comfortable. The risers were well made and fit perfectly with no play at all. I am happy with the quality of this product.
The caps come off and get lost. Glue them on or you will loose them.
I must say that i love the new position of the bars. But the installation on a GL1800 Tour NON DCT is not as easy as described! The issue is that on a non DCT the hydraulic line for the clutch and wiring harnesses for the throttle are not long enough as assembled. With that said if you try to assemble the handlbars on the risers you are stressing the clutch line and throttle wires too much. The difference between the DCT and non DCT is that the clutch line and wires to the throttle are on the same hold down. Since the wires for the Throttle handlebar come from the left side of the bike, the addition of the clutch lines moves those two harnesses further away from the throttle, therefore being too short. But.. if you disconnect the hold down and remove the tape for the wiring harness, the rubber grommet can be moved about a half an inch giving you enough room for installation without stressing the wires. The same can be done for the clutch hydraulic line. I am not sure if the grommets on all bikes are positioned exactly the same, but would think that for mass production they are very close.
Anyway, it worked and i love the new riding position.
