New HeliBars for the 2010 VFR1200DCT
It was worth the wait! It took us a little longer than we had hoped but we finally were able to procure a bike from the good folks at Nault's Honda in Manchester, NH.
We designed a HeliBar with the most comfortable hand position the bike would allow and it works with all stock hydraulics, cables and control wire looms.
- 1 3/4" Taller
- 1" Rearward
- 1" Wider (at 26 1/2)
- 8 degree reduction in downward angle
- 3.18 degree reduction in rearward angle
**NOTE: When R&D was conducted on the VFR1200 & VFR1200 DCT the stock bikes did not include the optional wind screen. The optional wind screen can interfere on the left side at full lock to lock. We have heard from the field that pulling the left bar back towards the rider as close as possible without contacting the fairing alleviates this situation.

VFR1200F DCT Helibars
The actual changes from stock on paper don't seem like much, but it makes a huge reduction on the weight on the wrists, and your resultant body position on the VFR.... being still somewhat sporty, but the ease on the back, wrists and shoulders was immediately apparent. Even at stop, the position is far more relaxed.
This is a MUST do modification, especially if you have any touring intentions. The finish and fit of the bars is topnotch, you'd never know it's not OEM, and with the exception of any "stops" or marks to aid in determining the angle of the bars, the installation was straight forward, and the instructions were simple, yet clear. It took a little fiddling with the pullback angles for clearance, but there are no issues with the cables, even with heated grips, if you follow the directions of minor rerouting.
The only issue I have is at FULL right lock, the emergency lights switch gets depressed on the bottom frame of the second windshield. This looks more an issue of this particular windshield placement than something of the Helibars. Frankly it's not an issue in practicality.
I'm very happy, they are well worth the cost of and the wait for the development of the DCT version.
