One of Heli Modified’s new rides for 2007 is this beautiful Razor Red Screaming Eagle® Road King® fitted with our new HorizonTM 825 adjustable alloy handlebars.
After designing and building thousands of HeliBars® custom motorcycle handlebars and risers that make sport and sport touring riders more comfortable, Harry Eddy, owner and chief design engineer at Heli Modified Corp., turned his design expertise to the cruiser / touring rider.
The primary obstacle to rider comfort is, “Cruiser handlebars don’t fit most riders. Wrist angle and reach are the key problems.” And swapping out traditional tubular bars can be time consuming, expensive, and still not result in a comfortable riding position.
In 2003, Heli Modified acquired a fleet of top-selling cruisers to better understand their riders’ ergonomic needs. Harry and his team focused on developing a handlebar design that would fit a wide range of riders and motorcycles, and complement the look of traditional American iron. Harry’s goal: “I wanted the components of this new bar to flow together.”
Countless hours were spent researching and developing the brand-new multiple rotational components, integrating redundant safety features into the design, and fine-tuning the specifications. The result is a state-of-the-art replacement handlebar kit that is mechanically precise and ideally adjustable, yet features a sleek appearance for the ultimate combination of form and function.

HeliBars Horizon™ handlebars are CNC-machined from solid, billet 6061 aluminum and solid, mill-spec, low-carbon steel. These parts are beautifully finished in high-gloss chrome through the environmentally friendly Trivalent (tri-chrome) plating process. As with all HeliBars® products, Horizon™ HeliBars® are made in Maine. This replacement bar kit is a true American original.
